There was always that strange, almost unexplainable feeling of belonging to two places at once: the place remembered, and the place where the present insists on moving forward.

Olive-based Leather Jacket – Bonasa Brown

820

Bonasa women’s olive-based leather jacket by Balsais is crafted from olive waste material, offering a refined alternative to traditional leather.

Think of a powerful, subtle silhouette with curved lines flowing like old paths traced anew-a statue softened by ease, offering freedom of movement.

Bonasa is designed and made in Lithuania.

It’s Bonasa, a quiet force grounded in nature, almost lost to time – symbol of resilience, survival, and the beauty of what remains. Shaped by sound of the past but open to the present, it moves between structure and ease, adapting with quiet grace, holding space for freedom and form without demanding either.

The Bonasa jacket is crafted from certified plant-based material, olive waste-based leather developed by Oleatex.

Ieva is 177cm / 5’10” tall and wears size 1.

Outer layer: 62% Olea-C* 38% Bio PU

Collar detailing: 60% Hemp 40% Viscose

Lining: Viscose 100%

*derived from the waste products of the olive oil industry (olive pomace & other olive tree biomass).

BALSAIS garments are made from exceptionally rare plant-based materials, and as such, PROFESSIONAL DRY (NON-WATER-BASED) CLEANING is the only safe cleaning method. Washing, tumble drying, bleaching, or ironing can alter the shape, texture, or color, and may change the essence of the piece itself. To preserve its integrity, we recommend no more than one professional dry clean per year, unless a visible stain demands attention.

Leather

Leather counterpart is crafted from olive tree bio-waste—specifically olive pomace, moisture solid residue obtained after extracting oil from olives.

Typically a source of environmental harm—polluting water, degrading soil, and disrupting local ecosystems—this byproduct is transformed into a material with up to 70% USDA-certified bio-based content, reducing carbon impact more than sixfold compared to conventional leathers or synthetics, derived entirely from patroleum.
